Introducing The Bass & Barrel
A modern pub, vibrant restaurant and 12 beautiful bedrooms, The Bass & Barrel is a place to eat, drink, stay and settle in.
Expect delicious dishes, perfect pours and a warm welcome that will make you feel right at home. From easy lunches and evening drinks to dinner with friends or a few days exploring the East Lothian coast, there will always be a reason to stop by and stay a little longer.
We’re delighted to share that The Bass & Barrel will open its doors on 20th October. We’re still busy getting everything ready, but bookings for overnight stays are now open so you can start planning your first visit!

At the heart of The Bass & Barrel, our restaurant is all about relaxed dining, great produce and food you’ll want to come back for. From easy lunches and midweek catch-ups to dinner with friends and special occasions, expect familiar favourites, seasonal dishes, and plenty of big flavours.
Whether you’re local to North Berwick or staying with us for a few nights, pull up a chair and make yourself at home.

The pub is made for the everyday moments that usually turn into the best ones. A quick pint that becomes another round. Coffee after a coastal walk. Friday drinks with friends. And a quiet seat with a good bottle of wine.
Behind the bar you’ll find ice cold beer, carefully chosen wines, classic serves and perfectly poured cocktails – plus a warm welcome for our favourite four-legged friends.
